[alsa-devel] Gateway MX3042 Laptop. No sound

I'm trying to help someone on the Kubuntu list, using Hardy Heron 8.04, which 
uses alsa driver 1.0.16. This is with a Gateway MX3042 Laptop, but no sounds.
